Lorene A. Green, 97, of Hamshire, died Saturday, June 19, 2021. She was born on May 24, 1924, in Nederland, to Agnes Johnson Gallier and Zead Curtis Gallier.
Lorene retired from Hamshire-Fannett Independent School District after decades of service in many capacities. She worked in a doctor's office as a Medical Assistant for many years and also cooked for the Pipkin Ranch for fifteen years. Lorene will be remembered for her yardwork and cooking, especially her famous jelly and dirty rice. She will also be remembered by her family as a loving wife, Mother, and Granny.
Survivors include her daughters Anna LeBlanc of Stowell and Joyce Hart of Clarksville, Tennessee; sons Rodney Green and his wife, Rosalind, of Prairieville, Louisiana and Dale Green of Hamshire; grandchildren Tammie, Terri, Kellie, Devina, Clay, Heather, and Amy; numerous great-grandchildren, and niece and nephews Darlene Dugas and Earl and Hal Smith.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of over thirty years, Fred Green; son, Kellie Green; daughter, Donna Chisum; sisters, Muriel Smith and Shirley Johnson; and brothers, Ted Gallier and Zead Curtis Gallier.
A gathering of Mrs. Green's family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Pipkin Ranch Lodge, 23347 Big Hill Road, Beaumont. Her graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Broussard's Cemetery, Highway 124, Fannett, under the direction of Broussard's, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie.
