Loraine McCloud Culver, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2021, in Houston, Texas. She was born March 22, 1931 in Edom, Texas. She moved with her family to Lubbock and then to Plainview, Texas.
She attended Texas Tech were she was a Kappa Kappa Gama and met and married her college sweetheart, Ralph Culver. They owned Plains Welding Supply which was started by her father in 1946 in Plainview. She owned Plainview Kindergarten and Rockin S preschool and nursery for over 20 years, in the 60's and 70's. She always enjoyed it when former students would come up to her and tell her their memories of going to her school. Her retirement years were spent at Possum Kingdom Lake where she and Ralph had a lake house since the late 70's. Her passion was gardening and landscaping her property at the lake and at her home in Weatherford. She loved spending time at the lake with her family making memories at gatherings and holidays. She loved being a grandmother and a great-grandmother. Her independence and strength will forever be with us.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hoyett and Velma McCloud, husband, Ralph Culver; and brother, Austin McCloud. She is survived by daughter, Nelta Culver of Houston, TX; son Randy Culver and wife Paulette of Carlsbad, NM. Loving grandmother to Robert Culver (Betsy) and Sam Culver (Brittany) . She proudly welcomed 4 great- grandchildren into this world and was known to them as their GiGi.
