Lonnie Ray Davenport Sr., 73, was born June 20, 1947 in Sweetwater, TX to Mary and Elonzo Davenport. He met his wife of 54 years, Maragaret, at a drive-in theater in Slaton, TX, and they were wed soon thereafter on January 7, 1966. Lonnie retired as a 5 star installer for Lucent Technology. He enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, and raising pigeons in his free time. He was known for passionately loving the Lord Jesus Christ, his family, and having a wonderful sense of humor- doing his best to bring a smile to everyone. He lived life gracefully doing well to be at peace with all. He is survived by wife Margaret Davenport with children: Lonnie Junior, Ronnie and wife Tracy, and Dee Ann with husband Clint Ratcliff. Grandchildren include: Jessica with husband Jon Brady, Taylor, Mason and fiance Taryn, Mackenzie, Chantelle with husband Andrew Grahn, and Ashton as well as nine great-grand children. Siblings include: Bobby and Jimmy Ellis of Sweetwater, TX, Eva Sellers of Albequerque, NM, Claudia and Lloyd Groves of Mesquite, TX, and brother-in-law Robert Tillery and wife Deanna of Yatesville, GA. There will be a private service with immediate family only. If led to send gifts of remembrance please send to the Davenport residence. Our family is a circle of strength and love.
