Psalm 40:5-8
I want to share with you a section of Psalm 40 that really describes how I feel about the life that the Lord has given me. "Many, Oh Lord my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare."
Raised in a very loving family, the daughter of a Lutheran pastor in Chicago, we lived right next door to the church. All of our activities centered there. My favorite Bible verse at that time was "I was glad when they said to me, let us go into the house of the Lord." It is no surprise then, that I was schooled from first grade into college in Lutheran schools. My prayer then turned to praying for a Christian man to marry. And then Walt appeared as the newly called teacher where I was already teaching in St. Louis. Between my class of third and fourth graders, and his fifth and sixth graders, he didn't have a chance! We were blessed with three wonderful children, Dave (Julia), Tim (Jeanette) and Kristine (Jeff); five grandchildren, Jon (Elise), Kristine (Derek), Lynnea (Brandon), Josh (Sarah), and Ashley (Christian); and eight great-grandchildren with one on the way. Our move to Baltimore expanded our ministry and our friendships. A courageous move to Hong Kong in 1970 fulfilled Walt's desire to teach overseas where he taught at the International School for nine years followed by serving the Vietnamese boat people as missionary for two years. Ours was always a team ministry and it has taken us from St. Louis, to Baltimore, then Hong Kong, New York (Camp Pioneer), Phoenix, and finally, Minnesota. With every move we made, we prayed from verse 8, "I desire to do your will, O my God, your law within my heart." And now, the best has come as I rest in the arms of my loving Father in heaven. Yes, many O Lord, my God, are the wonders you have done.
Lois's Celebration of Life will be Monday, May 12th at 11am at Trinity Lutheran in Waconia. Visitation at 10am. Light lunch to follow. Live stream at http://youtube.com/live/LUD40zAlDig?feature=share.

We are grateful for all the love and support to our family, and we praise God for His gift of life after life in Jesus.
