Our beloved Nanny and friend, Lois June Taubeneck, left this world in the early morning of April 18th, 2021 at Cottage in the Meadow at the age of 92.
June spent the last 3 years of her life with her grandson, Cody Wilson and his wife Katye Wison along with their three children, Lily 13, Sawyer 9, Ryker 4 and her sweet Schnauzer, Bootsie in Yakima Washington. June spent 57 years as a devoted and loving wife in Marysville, WA to her husband Lloyd who preceded her in death in 2008.
June was born in Marysville, WA to George Carslay and Nellie Carlslay. She came to live with her mother's cousin in Marysville, WA after her father passed away in 1935. She had 4 brothers and 4 sisters who preceded her in death.
June was a hard worker as she grew up on her aunt and uncle's farm and took care of her ailing aunt. June took pride in her appearance and found beauty in all things big and small. June was social, making close friends, Joan Maine, Vicky Winkler, and being a part of the Marysville Historical Society. June had a special place in heart for animals, especially cats.
June met her long time friend, Donna Wilson in 1987, shortly after her son Cody was born. June and Lloyd became an active part of Donna's life as the adoptive grandparents to Cody and his baby sister, Amanda.
Nanny will be dearly missed by all that knew her and loved her.
Viewing for June will be held Thursday, April 22nd, 2021, 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, 804 State Avenue Marysville, WA 98270. A graveside service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 23rd, 2021 at the Marysville Cemetery. All are welcome to share in the celebration of her life.
