Mr. Logan Boon, 22 of Charlotte NC, died Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at the Levine Dickson Hospice House after a six year battle with brain cancer. Logan was born July 11, 1997 in Muskegon, MI to Kelly Arnold Boon and the late Steven James Boon. Logan was pursing his Bachelor of Science degree at NC State University where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity.
He was preceded in death by his father, Steven James Boon, his aunt, Luann Johnston, and Grandparents, James Arnold and Joann and Arie Boon. He is survived by his mother, Kelly Ann Arnold Boon; his best friend and sister, Madeline Mary Boon (Neal Patel) of Raleigh, NC; beloved grandmother, Bernadette Hofer-Arnold of Norton Shores, MI; Uncle, Kevin Arnold of Norton Shores, MI and cousin, Wyatt Arnold (Elise) of California; Uncle, Dr. Denis Arnold (Dr. Sara Arnold) and cousin, Skye of Kannapolis, NC; Aunt, Traci Voss (Dave) and cousins, Matthew, Luke, Kate, Elizabeth of Louisville, KY; Aunt, Megan Ruszkowski (Chris) and cousins, Maxwell, Jacob, Sebastian and Griffin of Littleton, CO; Aunt, Shannon Ranaletta (Chip) and cousins, Trey, Drew and Jack of Huntersville, NC; Uncle, Brian Arnold (Angela) and cousins, Rory, Asher and Julia of Bath, OH; Uncle, Bruce Johnston of Arizona and cousin Heather Neal (Eric) of Oklahoma; Uncle, David Boon (Yvonne) and cousins, Cecilia Potts, Arie Boon (Caitlin), Anthony Boon (Elizabeth) and Alida Semrinec (Andrew) of Grand Haven, MI; Aunt, Linda Brown (Bill) and cousins, Ellen and Jerod of Grand Haven, MI. Logan also had five second cousins, Wyatt and Cora Neal, Thomas and David Boon, and Salvatore Arnold. Additionally, Logan's many extended aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Logan leaves behind his beloved yellow lab, Zoey, and friends in numbers too large to count, as Logan never met a stranger. Also, the amazing medical team and staff at Levine Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. With special thanks and gratitude to Dr. Chad T. Jacobsen MD, MS and Amy Kelly MSN, NP, who treated Logan so tirelessly over the last 6 years. Words cannot begin to express what they meant to Logan and our family.
Inurnment in St. Gabriel Columbarium will be private for family. Logan will be placed with his father, Steven James Boon. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at a later date, after the lift of the COVID-19 restrictions, at St Gabriel Catholic Church concelebrated by The Reverend Francis J. O'Rourke and The Reverend Richard Sutter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Camp CARE, PO Box 35072 Charlotte NC 28204. Camp Care offers a normal camp experience for children who have or have had cancer and year round activities for families being treated in the Charlotte area. Camp CARE was very dear Logan and he loved being a summer camp counselor there.
