Lloyd Laurence Cyr, age 90 of Albertville, formerly of Dayton, passed away peacefully at home December 17, 2022, under the loving care of his family.
Born August 29, 1932 to Elmer and Georgiana (Corrow) Cyr. Lloyd married his loving wife MarieAnne (Plude) Cyr on August 18, 1954, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dayton, Minnesota. Together they raised their five children in the home he built along the Crow River near Dayton.
Lloyd was a good and faithful servant to his Catholic faith, family, community and country. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He also served on the Elk River School Board during the 1970's and early 1980's, with many of those years as chairman. Lloyd was an avid photographer, captured many beautiful landscape and nature photos and created special cards that will be treasured by family for years to come. He was a skilled woodworking craftsman, making old fashioned toys and puzzles for his grandchildren and one of a kind furniture pieces that his family cherishes. For Lloyd, the joys in life were spending time with family, traveling and camping with his wife, and sharing his talent of grilling and making good food for all to enjoy.
Lloyd is survived by his children Tom (Shirley), Ben, Ann (Dave) Kasper, Alan, Jean (Craig) Staver; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and nephew (raised as brother) Bill (Pat) Brothen.
Preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Georgiana, wife MarieAnne, infant daughter Jeanette, sister Viola Brothen, brother Richard Cyr.
