Tinker, age 93, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2020. He was born on November 13, 1926 in Goliad County to Elder & Ella Urban. From an early age his companion was a horse and he began participating in rodeos. After high school he was drafted into the US Army. Upon returning home after four years of service he continued calf roping at many rodeos. He was a member of Southern Rodeo Association (SRA), Rodeo Cowboy Association (RCA), Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), and Texas Senior Pro Rodeo Association (TSPRA). At the age of 78 he retired from rodeo due to health reasons. In 2018 he was inducted into the South Central Texas Rodeo Ring of Honor.
He is survived by his wife, Willouise Turner Urban; three sons, John and wife Amy, Michael, and Casey; step children, David Glass and wife Kathie, Brenda LeNorman and husband Terry; four grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; and niece and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020 at Burleson County Cowboy Church in Caldwell, Texas
at 2:00 PM. Graveside services will be on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 2:00 PM at Glendale Cemetery in Goliad, Texas.
