Lino Briones, Jr., 83, passed away on Sunday, September 27th, 2020 in Victoria, TX at Citizens Medical Center. Mr. Briones was born on July 5th, 1937. He spent his childhood working on a ranch in Fannin, Texas, then moved to Goliad. He worked 25 years with Gifford Hill, and went on to work 15 years with the Goliad County Courthouse, where he retired due to his health. While employed, Mr. Briones was a lifetime rancher, and was well known by many as a hardworking, humble, and kindhearted man. Always sitting on the porch smiling, waving, and glad to talk to those who stopped by to visit.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Soila Briones, sister, Beatrice Perez, and parents, Carlota and Lino Briones, Sr.
He is survived by his son Lino Briones, III (Selina) of Goliad, TX, 3 grandchildren, Victoria Briones (Ben) of Rockport, TX, Lina Briones (Cody) of Midland, TX, John Garcia (Kendall) of Seguin, TX, and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Grace Funeral Home in Goliad, TX. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Grace Funeral Home in Goliad, Texas. Interment will follow at Flores Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to Dr. Fabian Espinosa, Dr. Clemmons, Dr. Gaala, Dr. Du, and both the OR teams and 5th floor team at Citizens Medical Center, all of Victoria, TX.
