She attended school for eleven years in Oklahoma until the family moved to Borger, Texas in 1945. Linnie graduated from Borger High School in 1946. From there she moved to Amarillo, Texas and started nursing training at Saint Anthony's Hospital. Linnie graduated as a registered nurse in May 1949 and worked at Saint Anthony's as a surgical nurse and later in the office of Dr. Frank Duncan. Linnie married Sidney Frank Cotgreave in October 1949. They were married for over 56 years and raised three sons. Linnie was a strong woman especially in her faith. She and Sid were founding members of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church where they served faithfully for many years. They truly created a Christian home for their sons. She was a true prayer warrior. Linnie delighted in her family, where they would gather for her holiday dinners and birthdays. They especially enjoyed her cook outs on Memorial weekend and the fourth of July, where a bowl of her homemade ice cream was greatly anticipated. She was a wonderful cook with chicken pot pie and black-eyed peas taking top billing. Her coconut meringue pies were amazing from top to bottom. She tended to a large garden every year of black-eyed peas, squash, cantaloupe, cucumbers, and tomatoes. She grew grapes and peaches for jellies and jams. She canned to the extent that she had her very own "canning house". She was famous for her dill pickles which yet have been emulated. She loved her family and grandchildren and was "Granna." A Sunday afternoon nap after church was a treat for her. She was never idle and kept the Lord in His rightful place in her heart as number one. She was a Biblical theologian and no one dare to play Bible Trivia with her. She loved that! She had a contagious laugh and had a playful sense of humor. She'll never be forgotten.
