Lindia P. Robinson, 67, of Jackson MS, peacefully passed away on May 5, 2021 at Baptist Medical Center
in Jackson, MS.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 11 at 10:00AM at the Jackson Memorial Funeral Service in
Jackson, MS.
Funeral service will follow at 11:00AM at the Jackson Memorial Funeral Service Chapel, Jackson, MS.
Interment will follow at Josey Creek Cemetery in Starkville, MS.
Community Funeral Directors, Nettleton, MS will be handling the arrangements.
Lindia was a Starkville native. She graduated from the Starkville Public Schools in 1971. Her love for
education and serving others inspired her to pursue and earn a Bachelor's degree from The University of
Mississippi. She furthered her education and received her Juris Doctor Law School degree from Rutgers
Law School, Newark, NY, in 1977.
She returned to Jackson, MS and began practicing law with the South MS Legal Services office. In 1991
she was named Executive Director of State Initiatives and remained in the role, faithfully servicing the
poverty community for 45 years, until her retirement in August 2019.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Burton Lawrence and Nancy Geneva Pilcher Robinson, brother,
William B. Robinson, Sr., and sister Betty D. Bardwell.
She is survived by 5 nephews; David B. Self, Terry L. Self, Kenneth W. Bardwell, John F. Bardwell, and
William B. Robinson, Jr. and one niece, Angela (Marcus) Grant; a host of great nieces and nephews, and
