Linda Ware Parker, 77 passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on Monday, May 2nd.
A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday 1:00PM at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Brian Johnson will be officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00PM to 12:45PM at Kimbrell-Stern.
She was born in Abbeville, SC on May 19, 1944 to James Wayne Ware and Katherine Woodhurst Ware. She graduated Newberry High School in 1962. She married the love of her life, Lewis Parker in 1973 in Charleston, SC. After her husband retired from the navy, they moved to Albany, GA to be closer to family.
Linda loved her job as a customer service representative for Georgia Power where she retired in 2000 after 12 years of service. She was a loving wife, mom, "Mimi", sister, and friend. She loved the Lord and always relied on her faith to get her through life's challenges. She enjoyed fishing, reading, going to the beach, her flowers and hummingbirds, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Lewis, her daughter Kristi and son in law Paul Somers of Albany, step children Michael Parker (Julie) of Clermont, FL and Susan Overlees of Spartanburg, SC and grandchildren Chase Somers, Parker and Kelley Overlees, Jackson, Laven, and Kolsten Parker, her sister Pat Turner and brother in law Lee Turner of Newberry, SC as well as several nieces and nephews in South Carolina.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Bob and Bill Ware.
