Linda Mae (Townsley) Ouimette 71, a lifelong resident of Greenfield, MA passed away February 19, 2021.
Linda enjoyed stained glass, macram?, crafts, gardening and quilting. Linda attended Greenfield schools, early on she was employed at Greenfield Savings Bank and then later in life worked in the transport division of the Greenfield Public School system and really enjoyed all of the children she had over the years. Most of all she enjoyed time with her grandchildren. Linda enjoyed the trip of a lifetime, traveling to Hawaii not long after her graduation from high school, a memorable event that remained with her throughout her life.
The daughter of Florence (Cromack) and Robert Townsley, was born in Greenfield on May 16, 1949. Linda was married to John Recore in 1969 and had 2 children and later was married to Donald Ouimette, Jr. and had 2 children. An infant daughter, Rachel Anne predeceased her. Linda was also predeceased by her mother, father, her sister Sylvia and brother Donny.
Survivors include her children Missae Recore and long term companion, Joe Andrews of Shelburne, MA, Kerri (Recore) Vassar of Gill, MA and Adam Ouimette of VT. Linda is also survived by 4 granddaughters, Tabitha Recore, Jessie Recore of New York, Olivia and Ella Vassar of Gill, MA, as well as by her siblings: Carole Townsley of Florida, Richard (Cathy) Townsley of Shelburne Falls, MA, Irene (David) McDonald of Greenfield, MA and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private in nature due to current COVID19 restrictions, to be officiated by Jack Cooper, Celebrant. Interment following cremation, will take place in the Green River Cemetery, Greenfield, MA, at a future date and time to be announced. Expressions of affection in Linda's memory, are suggested to the Greenfield Senior Center, 35 Pleasant Street, Greenfield, MA 01301 or to the Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility, c/o the Residents Activity Fund, 130 Colrain Road, Greenfield, MA 01301.
