Lee, Linda J.
Age 78, a longtime resident of Elk River Passed away on December 12, 2022.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband Terry Lee, parents Elijah and Alice Bennett and oldest brother Lee Bennett.
Linda grew up in Mexico, Maine and came to Minnesota in 1962 to attend trade school at the age of 17.
Where she met Terry Lee, and they were married on December 2, 1967. They came to live in Elk River in 1975 with their two daughters after Terry was injured in a work accident and wheelchair bound.
The first organization she joined was the MN Extensions Service and went on to volunteer for the MN Extension Committee. She also spent time volunteering in the Elk River Community Theater ticket office, at the Elk River High School Library changing their card system over to a computer data base, she spent several years as an election judge and a chief election judge for Sherburne County.
She very much enjoyed photography and participated in the historical photo shot "A Day in the Life of Elk River" for the Elk River Area Arts Council and Sherburne County Historical Society.
She was most proud of her work on the start-up committee for the Three Rivers Community Foundation and served on the board until 1994; she was honored in 2011 at the Foundations Gala.
After her husband passed away in 2001, she went on to work in Plymouth doing administrative work to keep herself busy and retired from there.
Some of her interests and great friendships came from playing in card groups such as bridge, smear and 500, along with mahjong and Mexican train.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend to many, and will deeply missed!
Survived by daughters Bonnie (Glenn) Tarr and Krista Lee; Grandchildren Amanda Tarr, Lucas Tarr, Logan Tarr, Brett Tarr and Trayton Howard; Great Grandchildren Ariel Tarr and Malayna Umlauf.
Brothers Hollis (Deena) Bennett and Gary (Erin) Bennett and many other relatives and friends.
Burial will be private with immediate family in the spring.
