Hampton, NH - Linda C. Hill, 72, of Hampton, a former longtime resident of Stratham, died peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2022 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
She was born in Lewiston, ME on July 27, 1950 a daughter of the late Thaddee and Murielle Longtin. She was the 2nd oldest of 14 children.
Linda graduated from Edward Little High School in 1968. After high school, she became a secretary at Geiger Brothers. Upon having children, Linda was able to be a stay-at-home mom. She truly enjoyed raising her two children while her husband began his career as a merchant marine. Once the children were older, Linda restarted her career as a legal secretary for Trafton & Matzen in Auburn, ME. She worked for many years as a legal secretary in Maine and New Hampshire. Eventually, she branched off and started her own Title company.
Linda was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was the centerpiece of the family and held the family together while her husband worked abroad for long periods of time. Linda's pride was her grandchildren and she loved to spend any opportunity that she could with them. Gardening was her specialty, and she was passionate about her outdoor spaces. She was devoted to her flowers, plants and lawn. Linda was known in the neighborhood for her John Deere tractor. Also, she enjoyed playing golf, road trips on Sunday afternoons, a nice dinner out and just chatting with friends. She truly enjoyed being around others and welcomed anyone into her life.
Surviving family members include her children, Patricia DeStefano and her husband Richard Jr. of Groveland, MA and Craig Hill and his wife Michelle of Auburn, ME; grandchildren, Megan and Richard DeStefano and Carter and Kendall Hill; and 13 Brothers & Sisters.
