11/16/1947 - 7/23/2023
Linda (Bates) Chase fought a courageous battle with cancer and departed this earth physically July 23, 2023, but her spirit will live on forever.
Linda was born to Russell "Bud" Bates, who preceded her in death, and Patricia Elaine (Smoke) Bates on November 16, 1947.
Linda attended Sand Creek High School where she played clarinet and was an active member of 4H. Following graduation she went into the Army where she met and married Julius Vernon Chase. She had two daughters, Erin (Chase) Pickett and Amy Elaine (Chase) Kennedy. She was very protective of her girls and was involved in all of their activities and sports. She encouraged them to always be fearless and independent. Her last wishes were for them to take her on all of their future adventures. Linda loved reading and you could often find her at the local library. Her passion for U of M football was unmatched and every Saturday she was rooting for them. She had a love for music, Motown specifically, and a dance party with her girls was a common occurrence.
Linda is survived by her mother, Patricia McWilliams; her two daughters, Erin (Chase) Pickett and Amy Elaine (Chase) Kennedy; and her two grandchildren, Saiyan and Sierra Pickett. She was a lifelong resident of Lenawee County and will be missed by many friends and family.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Island Park in Adrian, 1090 N. Broad Street, Adrian, MI 49221, on September 23, 2023. Please join us at noon to root on the Wolverines and celebrate Linda's life and spirit.
