Mrs. Linda Kay Ashton, 76, of Leesburg, peacefully passed away at her home on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. The family will host a memorial service at a later date. Linda and her husband, Mike, were faithful members of Lakeside Baptist Church. She spent her years as a loving homemaker caring for her home and family. In her free time, she loved to bowl and was a member of the Home Executives bowling team where she served as the league secretary for many years. Linda was a wonderful mother and grandmother and was affectionately known as "Nana." She always showed up for her family and loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports, never missing a game or event. Before her health declined, she enjoyed traveling and visiting different casinos with her best friend Effie. Linda also enjoyed playing Bunco and Spinner with her friends and loved to host game nights at her house. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all. Linda was born August 26, 1947, in Logan, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Glen and Clara Staley Hatcher. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert "Bobby" Hatcher. Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 58 years, Mike Ashton of Leesburg; their children, Bryan Ashton (Maggie) of Jacksonville, FL, Pam Goodwin (Louie) of Leesburg, and Jeff Ashton (Kali) of Cordele; grandchildren, Kasie Ashton, Tyler Ashton, Abby Ashton, Toni Avera (Sidney), Cole Goodwin (Evan), Brody Ashton, and Amelia Ashton; great grandchildren, Mila Avera, Layla Avera, Blakely Goodwin, and Madi Goodwin; her siblings, Luella Andersen, Evelyn Dickinson, Ronald Hatcher, Jan Seeley, and Genelle Wheatley; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends that loved her dearly.
