
Lillie Mae Morrison
The Lord Is My Shepard, I Shall Not Want.
Lillie Mae Davis was born November 27, 1913 to parents Easter and Jim Davis. She was the seventh child born. She professed her faith to Christ and joined Wiley's Grove Baptist Church in Corinth at the age of 12. In January of 1939 she met the love of her life Reaf Morrison and they united in holy matrimony in May of 1939. Nine children were born to this union. After marriage she united with the Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Corinth where she was an Usher and member of the Missionary Board. She shared her life story with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren every chance she had. She was blessed with the fifth generation of grandchildren. Her greatest memories were taking an airplane to visit family at the age of 90, visiting the state capitol, seeing the ocean, and voting twice for the first African American President. She was honored for her 100th birthday with a party, greetings from President and Mrs Obama, the Mayor and Alderman of Corinth, Senators and State Representatives. She departed this life on Friday, June 13, 2014.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Easter Scott Davis, brothers, William, T. J., George, James. sisters, Verline, Fannie, and Arteria. Sons, JD, Joseph, Andrew and Odell. daughter in laws, Maurine, Bertha, Constance.
She leaves two children Travis W. Morrison, Daisy Morrison Patton, 23 grand children, 13 great grand children and 15 great great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
