As Dylan Thomas wrote, "Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light" and Lillian did this fighting against cancer for 10 years and finally succumbed to it on July 5th in Naples Florida. She was born on November 20, 1943, to James and Dorothy Clare who preceded her in death. She graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in 1964 and worked as a registered nurse for 32 years at St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo, Ohio and various doctor offices in Columbus, Ohio and Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. She always cared deeply for her patients. She had a good heart and always tried to help other people and charities. She is survived by her Husband, of 56 years, Thomas H.; children, Lauren Welly (Stephen Murphy), Thomas A., and Nichole (Michael) Lee and seven grandchildren, Joshua and Steven Welly, Lily (Jed) Oberlitner, Tyler (Jori), Madison, Macie and Chase Lee. She also is survived by her great-grandchildren, Braxton, Tessa, Jackson and Kinsley; her siblings, MaryAnn McKnight, Robert (Peggy) Clare, Patrick (Shannon) Clare, David (Dawn) Clare, Katheryn (Bill) Feik, Richard (Donna) Clare and Therese Clare and numerous nieces and nephews. We wish to thank Vitas Hospice Naples for their caring and services and St. Ann's for their spiritual support. A memorial service will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 4605 St Anthony Rd., Temperance, MI 48182 on August 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Joseph's Indian School, 1301 N.
