Lillian V. (Disney-Gallatin) Hollifield, 84, of Indianapolis, formerly of Shelbyville, passed away on May 7, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Jess and Ida Mae (Dunn) Disney on June 18, 1937 in Cleveland, TN.
Lillian worked for American Uniform and M&M Mars in Cleveland, TN for many years. In her golden years, she worked in the domestic department and was a greater for Wal-mart where her magnetic personality, sincere smile, and caring demeanor radiated to the community. Later in life, she delighted in caring for and spoiling her first great-grandsons that brought her great happiness. She was a former member of First Baptist Church. Lillian was also a member of the Rebekahs. She was an avid gardener, amazing cook, BINGO caller, limousine service owner and operator, though above all she was a woman of great faith and loved her family with all her heart.
Lillian is survived by and was a wonderful mother to her only child, daughter, M. Darlene Hollifield Myers, who blessed her with seven grandchildren, Shannon Myers, Matt Myers, Michelle Hensel, Heather Myers, Hannah Myers, Kyle Myers, and Arianna Mullins-Goolsby; eight great-grandchildren, Landan Burton, Evan Emrich, Ethan Burton, Faith Hensel, Austin Myers, Luke Hensel, Aubrey Spackman, and Lilly Myers; one great-great-granddaughter, Paisley Burton and son in law, Tom Myers; all of whom she never missed an opportunity to dote on. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; previous husband, William A. Gallatin; husband, T. Virgil Hollifield; youngest grandson, Cody Myers; and her dachshund, Sonny.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176; with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy, MI on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 1:00 PM.
