Mrs. Lillian Allene Bishop, age 74, of Powder Springs, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at her residence.
Mrs. Bishop was born on March 16, 1947, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Mr. Warren Norvell Clackum and Mrs. Leotine Claire (Walker) Clackum. She has been married to Mr. Andy Lawrence Bishop for over 55 years. Before her retirement, she worked for the Cobb County School System as a secretary in the Bus Department. She has been a long-time member of Pickett's Mill Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and "Camp Grandma."
Mrs. Bishop was preceded in death by her son, Mr. Jeffrey Lawrence Bishop; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Norvell (Leotine Claire Walker) Clackum and her sister, Mrs. Lynda Reece.
Mrs. Bishop is survived by her loving husband, Mr. Lawrence Bishop; her son, Mr. Marty Bishop (Natasha); her grandchildren, Bethany Williamson (Cason); Devon Bishop, Michael Bishop, Ashley McCurry (Robert), Hunter Bishop and Jennifer Bishop; her great grandchild, Angelica McCurry; her sisters, Bonnie Langley, Jeanne Whitmarsh (Chris) and Angela Kay Ragsdale; her brothers, Frankie Clackum (Diane), Chris Clackum (Gloria) and Terry Clackum (Sharon) and her Brother-in-Laws, Ray Reece and Larry Bishop.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Bishop will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at Benson Funeral Home. Rev. Johnny Nix and Rev. Tony Samples will be officiating. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Cemetery (Marietta, Georgia).
The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, September 26, 2021, from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and Monday, September 27, 2021, 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. All visitations will be held at Benson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the building fund at Pickett's Mill Baptist Church.
