Lidys D Gonzalez de Glass, or 'Bueli' to her grandchildren, went to heaven on Sat, October 16, at the age of 82, after a battle with Covid-19.
Lidys was born on August 14, 1939 in Chiriqui, Panama, where she also met her husband Elwood, a US Marine. They wed in 1962 and moved to the US. Their most long-term home was in Jacksonville, NC. Lidys proudly held a panamanian citizenship for life.
Lidys was known above all else, to be vibrant. She was a talented artist. She laughed loudly, danced often, and loved to sing. She cheered for college basketball and the Carolina Panthers. She was a Catholic woman of strong faith, and always willing to help others in need, including many rescue pets!
Being a wife, mother, and grandmother, was the most important part of Lidy's life. 'Bueli' was a matriarch in the truest definition of the word. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 59 years, Elwood Glass; her sister Maritza Reyes; her children Maria Guadalupe Miles, Gary Glass, and Dolly Glass; her grandchildren Brittney Miles, David Miles, Sierra Duckett, and Elysia Duckett; and many nieces and nephews.
In the spirit of Lidy's giving history, memorials may be made to her favorite charity: SPCA.
