Lewis O. Smith, 71, of Looneyville, died Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at home.
He was born May 16, 1951 at Elana, Roane County, the son of the late Orville L. and Ina E. Duffield Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Homer Arnold Smith; brother, Dayton Smith; sisters, Hazel McLaughlin and Rebecca Ann Smith.
Lewis was a retired employee of Five Star Gas, Spencer. He was also a farmer and a lifelong resident of Roane County.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy L. Shafer Smith of Looneyville; children, Jason (Denise) Spaur of Spencer, Emily (Keller) Patton of Spencer, Abigail (Cody) Helmick of Shock, Makayla (David) Chew also of Spencer, Hunter L. Smith of the home; grandchildren, Sarah Greenfield, Logan Spaur, Phoebe Spaur, Colton Helmick and Samuel Chew; sisters, Helen (Charles) Snyder of Spencer and Elaine (Carlos) Ferrell of Gandeeville; brother, Charles (Phyllis) Smith of Marietta, Ohio.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 6 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer. Burial will be in the Stone Cemetery, Looneyville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
