Leta Francis Pemberton, age 80, of Frisco, Texas passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 18, 2021. She was born on December 13, 1940, to Leta Lorene Scott and Marion David Baker in Slaton, Texas. Leta graduated from Burkburnett High School. She also attended Wichita Falls General Hospital School of Nursing, as well as Midwestern University, Wichita Falls, Texas. While working at the hospital she met the love of her life, Harold G. Pemberton. On May 29, 1960, in Wichita Falls, Texas they were married. They moved to Pilot Point, Texas where Harold went to work for Beck Funeral Home. Harold and Leta began a 40 year career of owning and operating Pemberton Funeral Homes in Frisco, Celina, Aubrey, Lewisville and Commerce, Texas. They loved their involvement in every community and the life long friendships that endure to this very day. Leta enjoyed life to the fullest. She most of all loved her sons and their friends and never missed a football or baseball game their entire time of playing sports. She was so devoted that even in a full plaster body cast due to scoliosis she would lay in the ambulance in the end zone to watch their games for four long years. In her later years she battled breast cancer and heart disease. "She was the toughest person I've ever known" says David Pemberton. Never give up. Leta was an accomplished musician and could play any song from any decade on the piano or organ without the music. She loved playing and singing gospel hymns with her beloved brother, Bill Baker. She played the organ on just about every funeral and most of the churches every Sunday for decades. Leta is survived by her two sons, David Pemberton and his wife, Laurie of Dallas, Texas, Banks Pemberton and his wife, Kamye of Gainesville, Texas. Her three grandchildren, Jacqueline Freedman, Brennan Pemberton and Forrest Pemberton; her brother, Jim Baker and his wife, Connie of Wichita Falls, Texas; Chelette Baker of Houston, Texas; and numerous extended family members and a host of friends. Honorary Pallbearers include Phil Smith Jr., David Dunning, Darren Blanton, Warren Houser, Barry Davis, Jackie Davis, J.D. Tadlock, G.A. Moore, Barry Vaughn, Blake Vaughn, Jon Whitten, Jim Vice, Gary Thomas, Jackie Thomas, Van Nichols, Larry Francis, Kelly Francis, Denny Francis, David Tripplehorn, Doug Morris, Mark Hutchison, Noe Lopez, Sergio Lopez, Ronnie Phillips, Donnie Phillips, Bill Winfrey.
