Leonard Wes Isbell 62, of Albany formerly of Stamford passed away Monday, December 6 in an Abilene Hospital. Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Friday, December 10. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Stamford with John Tunnell officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Anson under the direction of Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home.
Wes was born May 22, 1959 in Haskell, Texas the son of the late Eddie Jack and Emma Claudine (West) Isbell. Wes graduated from Stamford High School in 1977 and later attended Western Texas College in Snyder. Wes lived most of his life in Jones County and the last 27 years in Albany. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Albany. He was retired from WTU/AEP where he worked as a service man for 27 years. He was very skilled at welding and enjoyed fabricating various metal projects for himself and others. Wes was a kind man and his easy-going personality was enjoyed by everyone around him. He enjoyed spending time with his family, riding motorcycles and golfing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and nephew Clinton Isbell.
He is lovingly survived by son Jack and wife Christine Isbell of Abilene; daughter Samantha Isbell of Albany; grandchildren Derek Isbell of Abilene, Traci Isbell of Lubbock, Hannah MacKenzie of Albany, Grace MacKenzie also of Albany, Hailey Isbell of Austin, Tristan Isbell of Abilene; sisters Jackie Watkins and husband Michael of Hodges, Cherryl Pittman and Lonnie of Hodges; brother Shannon Isbell and Debbie of Stamford; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
