Leonard Ray Stickel, of Midland passed away on February 20, 2022, in Midland, Texas. Leonard was born in East Chicago, Indiana to Marvin Ray Stickel and Nell Marie Harper on March 17, 1958. He attended 27 different schools before graduating high school. After high school, Leonard began his life journey and learned multiple trades throughout his career. He worked as a lineman, he obtained his bachelors degree as a licensed elevator mechanic, and worked in the oil fields of West Texas as a pumper. He spent the last 11 years as a lease operator and spent 6 of those years with Elevation Resources. Leonard married the love of his life, Teresa Lynn Thomas, on August 9, 1986, in Midland, Texas. Leonard was a man of many trades and was Teresa's handyman, self-made woodworker and could fix just about any appliance or repair anything that crossed his path as long as he had some sort of injury that drew blood while working on it. He could do any job that was placed in front of him. He was, in his words, a freakin' genius! He served as an elder at Fellowship Community Church and taught his children to work first for the Lord. He walked in a manner worthy of his calling. Leonard was proceeded in death by his parents; brother Steven Short, and his parents in the Lord, Royce and Patsy Mariott. Leonard is survived by his wife Teresa; sons Caleb Stickel and his wife Christina, Daniel Stickel and his wife Kristen; daughter Hannah Robison and her husband Thad, and his 8 darling grandchildren Hunter, KayLynn, Dixie, Gunnar, Tedda, Rush, Hadley and Reese.
