Leonard (Len) C. Ruby, Jr., 74, of Dallas, beloved husband of Peggy for 53 years and father of Tina, Brian (Misha), Kirt (Stacey), and Joe (Kim); beloved grandfather of Tyler, Sam, Jessie, Emerson, Caroline, and Cosmas; preceded by his parents Len and Betty Ruby and sister Marilyn LaBelle, passed away on February 17, 2024 surrounded by his family, after a brief illness.
Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Len moved with his family to Dallas in 1979 to begin a long career with Interstate Batteries and leaves behind not just a family of co-workers, but life-long friendships. He loved golfing, fishing, everything batteries, practical jokes, and sports (especially the Chicago Bears and NASCAR).
He was a long-time member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and a pillar of his faith community. He wholeheartedly donated his time and resources to helping those most in need. Benefactors of his generosity include a multitude of charitable organizations, religious education funds, and charities providing for those struggling to provide for themselves. He demonstrated selfless love in every facet of his life as was exemplified by his eternal love for Peggy, his kids, grandkids, and extended family. He leaves behind a long legacy of love and an example for all those who knew him.
A visitation for Len will be held Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, 10501 Garland Road, Dallas, TX. The Rosary will be prayed on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 11:15 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3030 Gus Thomasson Rd, Dallas, TX, followed by Mass at 12:00 PM. A reception will follow at the church.
