Leona (Pines) Fuss passed away peacefully on Saturday April 17th after a 3 month illness. She would have been 84 years old on April 20th.
Originally from Forest Hills, New York, she and her family relocated to this area in the mid 1970's.
Leona, along with her husband Arthur Fuss (deceased) had founded one of the earliest Home Health Agencies in the area, St. Lucie Home Health. They grew the Medicare certified business significantly and employed many excellent Nurses, Therapists and Aides in St. Lucie, Martin, Indian River and Okeechobee Counties. After selling the agency, they founded an Assisted Living Facility, Midway Manor, in Ft. Pierce.
Leona was a very active Life Member of Hadassah. She had been Fundraising Vice President for many years in both New York and Florida. Also, she very proudly sponsored her daughter and granddaughters as well.
Leona and Arthur were also members of Temple Beth El in Port St. Lucie for several decades.
Leona is survived by her three children and five grandchildren: Karen Wendman, spouse Murray, and grandchildren Rebecca, Michelle and Joseph. Warren Fuss, spouse Tanya, and granddaughter Aimee. Richard Fuss, spouse Tammy, and grandson Alex. She was the daughter of Phillip and Rae Pines (both deceased).
Funeral arrangements are as followed: A Graveside Service will take place at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Beth El Memorial Park in Ft. Pierce, FL. The family will be sitting Shiva at: 656 NE Little Kayak Point, PSL, Fl. 34983
