Leona Lucinda "Cindy" Bowers, 64, of Mitchell passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born October 27, 1955, in Bedford, Indiana, she was daughter of Labon Kern Jr. and Mary (Taylor) Kern.
Cindy worked at Garden Villa in environmental services for 29 years. She also had worked for L&M Oil Company as well as Shelby Trucking.
She loved fishing, riding four-wheelers, dancing and spending time with her family. She was also a member of the Senior Citizen Center in Mitchell.
Surviving her are two daughters, Jessica French of Bedford, Lori (Jerry) Pierce of Mitchell; mother, Mary Kern of Mitchell; grandchildren, Michael French, Austin French, Heather Canada, Dalton Strunk; great-grandchildren, Haisley French, Haysen French, Jupiter French, Hennalee French due in December; two brothers, Joe (Melissa) Kern, Michael (Kim) Kern; two sisters, Lynn (Rick) Mosier, Amanda (Jimmy) Gross; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Labon Kern Jr., one brother, Kelly Kern, and one sister Debbie Miller.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 8, 2019, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, with Cecelia Magill and Rick Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. Thursday, November 7, 2019 at the funeral chapel.
