Leon W. Reed, 86, passed away peacefully on April 20th at the CRVNA Hospice House in Concord. He was born in Concord in the spring of 1935 the son of Theodore and Bernice (Ordway) Reed and attended the local school system.
Leon was a hard worker and built his own home on second street in 1957 with his fathers help, he shared that home with his wife of 64 years, Barbara (Silver) Reed until her passing in 2020. He worked at Pitco Frialator for 45 years, he started by stacking metal and worked his way through different positions and he retired as a project design manager. In his early years Leon enjoyed riding his Harley and playing poker with his friends. He enjoyed camping with his family as well as hunting and fishing.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara as well as a brother Leslie Reed. He is survived by his two sons Stephen Reed and his life partner Martha Pearson of Concord and Thomas and Laura Reed of Pembroke; several nieces, nephews and friends.
There will be no calling hours a Graveside Funeral Service will take place on Thursday May 13th at 1:00 PM in Maple Grove Cemetery on Sewalls Falls rd in Concord. Pastor Terry Odell will officiate. The Wendell J Butt Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
