Leon Bush, 59 of Boyne City passed away September 8, 2021 at the Mayo Clinic Methodist in Rochester, Minnesota; surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Leon was born September 26, 1961 in Cheboygan, MI the son of John Satterlee Bush and Geneva Margaret (Brownell) Bush. He grew up I Boyne City and graduated from Boyne City High School.
On June 17, 2000 he married his best friend and love of his life Karin Sevenski. Together they made Boyne City their home where they raise their four beautiful children. Leon was a selfless man and always put his family first. Often he was described as a quiet man but his presence was always so much larger than his voice. A true gentle, kind and caring soul.
Leon was a man of many talents; carpentry, builder, mechanic, electrician, plumber and appliance repair just to name a few. His wife said that he was the smartest man she ever knew. Leon worked for Petoskey Plastics, Construction (owner), Lexamar and was currently working for Boyne USA Resorts when he passed.
Leon could learn anything he wanted to do at an astonishing rate. He was blessed with an extreme intelligence and an understanding of any mechanical/computer device put in front of him. Along with that came an extra special gift in which he seemed to always have the right answer for any question asked of him. If his children ever had a question they always knew that their dad would have the answer. Not just any answer but the right answer! He truly enjoyed life and just being content with wherever he was and with, whatever he was doing. Pure Grace...
Leon enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. His excitement grew when the salmon were beginning to jump at the mouth of the Boyne River and when Bow season would kick-off hunting. He looked at it as a great way for him to provide for his family as he was an awesome provider.
Along with his dedications to his wife and family came a dedication to his community. Being an active Volunteer Firefighter with the Boyne City Fire Department for twenty-nine years. He absolutely loved to "Light Fire". He was a great Fireman but an even greater husband and dad. We will all miss him.
Leon is survived by his wife Karin (Sevenski) Bush; children Noel Bush, Justin Bush, Julie Bush and Jay Bush; grandson Preston Paten; siblings Debra Bush of East Jordan, John(Laura) Bush of Boyne City, Billie (Matthers) Weisler of East Jordan, Kellie (Daniel) Weisler of East Jordan, James (April) Bush of Cebu City, Philippines.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Geneva Bush and sister Lorie Ann.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Bush Family, C/O Karin Bush.
A funeral service was held 11:00 AM Friday, September 17th at Walloon Lake Community Church followed by a burial at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Boyne City.
