Leo Lloyd Lake, age 88, born in Lyford, Texas, August 29, 1934, passed away peacefully in his sleep early Sunday morning, October 16, 2022. He is survived by his children, Mike, Kim, and Pam; his brother Johnny; and his grandchildren, Joshua, Danae, Brady, Chase, and Chelsea.
Leo spent most of his adult life in Oxnard and Port Hueneme working for the Press Courier, raising his family and coaching baseball. Later in life he enjoyed golfing, driving antique cars, and watching his grandchildren grow with a grandfather's pride.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Bobby and Yvette Lake: David and Linda Lake; Christina Holladay and Teresa Rodriguez for providing wise and caring end-of-life support as Leo's health ebbed with age. We could not have made it without each of you and are so thankful that Leo did not suffer.
There will be an intimate gathering of family on Monday, November 7 to share the memories of life, laughter, and tears, to draw strength from one another and to commit the spirit of Leo Lake into the hands of a loving and merciful God: life is given and so life returns, to everything there is a season.
