Leo Johnson, age 92, a loving husband and great father went to be with the Lord on April 14. 2021. He was born November 8, 1928, in Lecompte, LA. He lived most of his life in Beaumont, TX and Sam Rayburn Lake area in TX. After serving 2 years in the US Navy, he graduated from LSU in Electrical Engineering. He worked in the oil industry for Mobil refineries 38 years. After retirement, he moved to Sam Rayburn Lake area and enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Beaumont and Rayburn Baptist Church in Brookeland. Leo taught by example, was devoted to his faith and dedicated to his family and home. His natural ability as an engineer gave him the talent to repair anything broken and keep old things working for a long time. This added to his joy of saving money and living wisely!
Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Grace Johnson and his sister, Stella Grace Couvillon. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Linda Scarbrough Johnson and his 2 children, Laurinda Johnson and Lloyd Johnson. He had 2 grandchildren, Mark Senseney (Erin Hagg) and Lindsey Johnson (Matt Walters) and great-granddaughter, Emery. Also, 3 Senseney grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate his life will be at Rayburn Baptist Church, Brookeland,TX will be held at a later date.
