December 22, 1932 - June 28, 2022
Lenore Joanne Moa, a longtime resident of Stanwood, WA, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2022, at the age of 89.
Lenore was born on December 22, 1932, in Everett, WA, to Irwin Schultz and Elvira Schilling Schultz. In her younger years, Lenore grew up in Everett. When she was a teenager, her parents purchased the Twin City Bakery and moved to Stanwood, where they became well known in the small community. Lenore graduated from Twin City High School in 1951. Lenore remained close to her classmates over the years, a true testament to lifelong friendship.
After graduation, Lenore met and married Ramon "Ray" Husby. They had 3 children, Ramona, Gary, and Craig, and eventually settled in Stanwood, and then Camano Island. They divorced after 20 years of marriage. In 1974, Lenore married Don Moa. They enjoyed many years of entertaining, golfing, traveling, and cruising. In their retirement years, they also became snowbirds to Indio, CA, with side trips to Las Vegas, Reno, and Laughlin, Nevada. Lenore enjoyed being the librarian in their California retirement park.
In the 1960's, Lenore went to work selling Avon, first in Marysville and then in the Stanwood area. Later, she worked for Bud Chappel in his pharmacy, in Stanwood and then Mt. Vernon. At the Stanwood Travel Agency, she worked with Pat Jennings and Donna Kallock. She said working with Pat and Donna was always so much fun. Lenore was a very popular tour guide and enjoyed traveling, especially cruises.
Lenore loved family gatherings. Her pot roast dinner was a big deal...no one missed her delicious pot roast dinner with all the trimmings. She had a warm, welcoming home, was a wonderful hostess, and loved to entertain. Her Christmas tree was always a beautiful work of art. She also enjoyed bingo, golfing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She always looked forward to her monthly Mexican Train dinner group.
Lenore was preceded in death by her son Craig Husby, son Gary Husby, husband Don Moa, and previous husband Ray Husby.
