Lee A. Ross, age 76 of Knoxville, passed away on Tuesday, October 26. He passed peacefully in his Tennessee home after a prolonged battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Lee was born on July 17, 1945 in Norwood, Massachusetts. After graduation from King Philip High School in Wrentham, Massachusetts he joined the US Army and faithfully served his country in Vietnam. Lee's dedication to his community was shown by his 39 years serving in multiple school districts throughout the Southeast. When not working at school, Lee could be found enjoying sports with his family and friends. He was an avid supporter of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, University of TN Volunteers, & Auburn Tigers.
Lee is survived by his wife of 49 years, Melinda; his son Allan Ross (daughter-in-law Brooke Ross); his daughter Katherine (Ross) Ping (son-in-law Jason Ping); his grandchildren Brandon Ross, Liam Ross, Mekeyle Ping; his brother David Ross (sister-in-law Karen Ross) and nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his father, Russell Ross and mother Dorothy Ross.
A private family service will be held in the East Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery at a later time with Dr. David Tabor officiating.
The family would like to thank the staff of Covenant Hospice, Teresa and her loving staff for their care and support.
