Lee Ann Lunt 1947 ~ 2022 Lee Ann Lunt was born to Henry Rudd Lunt and Shirley Nelson Lunt in their adobe house near Duncan, Arizona on June 18, 1947. She died on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, in Salt Lake City, from a severe stroke. She was an excellent trumpet player for which she received a college scholarship. Education was important to Lee Ann. She received bachelor's and master's degrees in health science from BYU. She graduated in 1979 with her bachelor's degree in nursing from BYU. She went on to achieve her Critical Care Nurse National Certification. She worked in the Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit at LDS Hospital as the Assistant Head Nurse and flew with the Fixed-wing Life Flight. She also worked as a Nurse Practitioner in the Wendover, Utah Clinic. Lee Ann expressed her love for nursing by saying, " Nursing gave me many wonderful challenges and joys. Oh, how I loved it!' Lee Ann was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was called on a mission and served in the California South Mission, Spanish-speaking. She has said "I love the gospel of Jesus Christ - it gave me joy, service opportunities and a sure foundation on which to build my life" Lee Ann was a true friend in every sense of the word. She had a great love for her friends and was loved by them in return. She described the importance of her friends when she said "I loved people and sought to be around them and to help make their lives better. I enjoyed many wonderful friendships. Much thanks to my long-term friends, Peggy Spute for all her care and unselfish help, Mary Williams for mentoring and always being there and others too numerous to mention. Lee Ann had a great love for her family, her siblings and her many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She said, "I love my family with all my heart and wish them to know of my love and testimony. Stay close to the Lord and follow the Prophet always. He will not fail you. Do not pick and choose as to whether his counsel is true!" Lee Ann is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brothers, Paul (Sharon), Nelson (Jeanne), Richard (Colleen), Robert (Marla); her sister, Deborah Payne; her aunt, Jo Anne Nelson; and many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11 at 11:00 am at the Hilltop LDS Ward House, 589 East 18th Ave, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.
