Lee Andrew Anderson, age 73, passed away peacefully on May 29th at Christiana Hospital. Lee was born on October 12, 1947 in York, PA, relocated to Aston and resided in Claymont, DE for the last 43 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine (Maloney) and Carl Anderson.
Lee was a 1965 graduate of St. James Catholic High School in Chester, PA and West Chester University. He was employed by the Interboro School District and taught elementary music until his retirement. Along with his fellow musician friends, he played trumpet in a band called the Starliters in his younger days. Lee had a knack for making friends and was always ready with a story or joke. His interests included golfing, reading, traveling, and he loved dogs.
He was a member of the Claymont Moose Lodge 847 (Pilgrim Degree of Merit), Knights of Columbus Christopher Council 3182, VFW Post 5447, and FOE 74. He was also a devoted member of the St. James High School Alumni Association (Wall of Honor Inductee) and sang in the STJ Choir (The Blue and Gray Voices) and also in the choir at Holy Rosary Catholic Church where he was a parishioner.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rita A. Kwiatkowski Anderson with whom he shared 42 years of blissful marriage; his faithful dog companion; brother-in-law, Elwood Pennetto; nephew, James Pennetto and his wife Leanne and son, Matthew; many cousins. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.
Friends and family are invited to his viewing on Saturday, June 5th from 9:30-11:30am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30am. Interment will be private at a later date. For those not fully vaccinated, facemasks will be required in church. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. James Alumni Association 1499 E. 9th St. Eddystone, PA 19022, are appreciated.
