Layla Allen, 10, a lifelong resident of Bellows Falls, passed peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her devoted family, Monday evening, January 9, 2023, at 6:40pm. Layla was born in Keene, NH on November 17, 2012.
Layla blessed her family with over 10 years of a tremendous amount of love and happiness. With a smile as big as Rockingham she filled her family's hearts with a joy that will never be matched or forgotten.
Layla enjoyed listening to her favorite country music, at a reasonable volume of course. She loved gardening with her mother, sisters, and brother. She always made time to relax on the porch for hours. Winters were spent rolling in the snow. She loved to go just about anywhere for a car ride. Layla was the absolute definition of a "girly girl" she refused to be dirty, she demanded perfectly manicured paws, and would wear nothing but pink and purple. She even had purses that she would carry her toys and or treats in.
Layla was the band-aide to a healing wound. She was medicine. She could sense struggles and her snuggles and kisses would heal your sorrow.
Layla was the absolute definition of a fighting spirit She had beaten cancer. Twice. She adjusted to her diabetes management with fierce determination. Her arthritis would not hold her back from enjoying the things and people she loved so deeply.
We cannot begin to describe the amount of sorrow this brings our family. But she will not be forgotten. We will always hold dearly the memories, laughter, love, joy, and belly rubs that she brought our family. Fly high sweetest angel. There will never ever be another Layla Muffins.
She is survived by her parents, Matthew and Rebecca Allen; her sisters Emily and Amanda; her brothers Charlie and Maxwell; as well as many extended family and friends.
She is predeceased by her uncle, Michael Johnson; and her sister Chloe.
"May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields, And, until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand" -A Irish blessing
