Lawrence P. Morton Jr. (Larry), born October 25, 1931, passed away on November 3, 2021 at the age of 90. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
The oldest of seven children, Larry was born to Geraldine Baker and Lawrence P. Morton, Sr. in Dallas. He graduated from Jesuit High School in 1949 and afterwards attended SMU.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lois, and their three children, David and wife Mary, Lisa Meara, and Chris. His grandchildren Christopher, James and Robert Meara, Matthew, Kailey and Caroline. Also brothers Marvin, Gerald, Granville and sisters Catherine, Martha and numerous other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Patricia.
Most of Larry's career was spent at Morton Foods, then Borden Snacks and eventually retiring from Tennessee Press in 1997.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 799, Jesuit Alumni Board, Men of St. Thomas prayer group and Ostomy Association.
Visitation will be November 11, 6-7pm, followed by a Rosary 7-7:30 at Sparkman-Hillcrest, 7405 Northwest Hwy. The Funeral is November 12, 1pm at St. Thomas Aquinas with entombment to follow at 3pm, at the Calvary Hill Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of him to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church or Morton Family Scholarship Fund at Jesuit High School.
