Funeral services for LaVida (Lee) Pleinis, 85, of Aberdeen, SD, will be 2:00 pm, Monday, October 26, 2020 at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St. with Pastor Tate Stephens officiating. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Lee died Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at Avantara Redfield in Redfield, SD
Lee was born July 14, 1935, in Tolstoy, SD to Edgar And Minnie Aldinger. They moved to Bowdle, SD, where she attended and graduated from high school. They moved to Aberdeen where she met the love of her life Harold Pleinis. They were married on February 24, 1957. Together they had five children.
Lee enjoyed ceramics, horseracing, bingo, and playing piano. She also enjoyed camping and playing games with her family.
She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Grateful for having shared Lee's life are her husband, Harold; son Rick (Terri) Pleinis, of Washburn, ND; daughters: Raelene (John) Weig, Aberdeen, SD, Rhonda (Jim) Stallings, Ringgold, GA, Roxie (Clay) Stephens, Frazee, MN, and Rachelle (Brian) Malsom, Aberdeen, SD; brother Dwight Aldinger, Waynesboro, VA; sister-in-law JoAnn Cunningham, Aberdeen, SD; grandchildren: Michael Weig, Jason (Sheri) Weig, Justin Weig, Derick (Marissa) Stallings, Alisa (Eddie) Russell, Nichole Harty, Chris Harty, Jordan (Jane) Stephens, Tate ( Kristen) Stephens, Cody Pleinis (Eric Saathoff) and many great-grandchildren.
Preceding Lee in death are her parents, Edgar and Minnie Aldinger, and brother, Earl Aldinger.
