Lavern Eugene Martin , 60 Jan 19, 1960 - Jan 9, 2021 Lavern Eugene Martin, 60, of Wayne Highway, Waynesboro, PA, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 at his home following declining health from liver disease.
Born January 19, 1960 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Allen Eshleman Martin and Esther Louise (Oberholzer) Martin.
He was a retired farmer and was employed by Martins Elevator Inc. of Maugansville, MD.
He was a member and minister at Stouffers Mennonite Church of Greensburg, MD.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Ellen Sue (Diller) Martin whom he married November 5, 1981, six children, Darlisa Rodes and husband Jeremiah of Greencastle, PA, Kathryn Petrie and husband Roger of Mercersburg, PA, Jonas Martin and wife Ethel of Waynesboro, PA, William Martin and wife Laureen of Waynesboro, PA, Beverley Martin and husband Melvin of Hagerstown, MD, and Nancy Eby and husband Brian of Greencastle, PA, one brother, Durell Martin and wife Lorraine of Waynesboro, PA, two sisters, Loraine Horst and husband J. Lester of London, KY, and Doreen Strite and husband Daniel of Waynesboro, PA, twenty grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday, January 15, 2021 at 10:00am at Stouffers Mennonite Church with Stouffers Ministries officiating. Burial will be in Stouffers - Pondsville Mennonite Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 1-3pm and 6-8pm at the church and on Friday from 9-10am before the service.
The family request the omission of flowers.
