LaVar E. Wilde 1934 ~ 2003 Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, LaVar E. Wilde passed away from complications due to surgery on Dec. 7, 2003 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born August 26, 1934 in Peoa, Utah to Thead Elmer Wilde and Olive Leola Walker. He married Inez Alder September 6, 1956 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He was raised in Oakley, Utah and graduated from South Summit High School. He also graduated from Salt Lake Trade Technical College. He was an honorable veteran and was a Master Electrician - working both as an Electrician and a Signal Supervisor with Utah State Department of Transportation, retiring in 1999.
LaVar was a hard worker and performed countless acts of service. LaVar's greatest love was his family and their many accomplishments. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many leadership positions. He was an avid BYU fan - he loved those Cougars.
Survivors, his wife Inez, son Rick L. (Kathy) Wilde, daughters Julie (Mark) Lundskog; Susie (Heath) Earl, Malece (Ryan) Lewis, 15 grandchildren, one great grandchild, brother Garlan, Sisters Myrna, Luann, Neta. Preceded in death by parents and brother Nile.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the Riverside 1st Ward, 5425 South 600 West, Murray, Utah. Friends and family could call at Jenkin-Soffe Mortuary at 4760 South State, Thursday, December 11, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and also at the Ward on Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Military rites and burial were at the Midway Cemetery Midway, Utah, 2:00 p.m.
