It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of a humble servant of our Lord, Laura Elizabeth Lancaster Porter. Laura Beth was born on May 30, 1934 in San Marcos, Texas to Porter Lancaster and Laura Louise (Cline) Lancaster. She passed away peacefully at home in Conroe on Thursday, April 15, 2021 with family by her side.
Laura Beth grew up in Conroe, graduating from CHS in 1952 and went on to attend the University of Houston. She married her high school sweetheart, Clyde Letbetter and soon were blessed with Lisa and Chuck. They were married 31 years before Clyde's passing.
Laura Beth was a follower of Christ. She had unfailing faith and treasured the moments sharing this love with others. She believed in the hope of the resurrection of Jesus and its' hope that comforts us. Laura Beth was a longtime member of Thee Evergreen church in Evergreen, Tx where she spent many Sunday's playing the piano and worshiping.
Later in life she married a childhood friend, Charles Porter and they spent 15 happy years before his passing in 2018.
Her legacy has been intertwined many places along her journey of life. As a mother of two children, four grandchildren and one great grandchild, her legacy will continue to grow.
Laura Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Porter Lancaster and Laura Louise (Cline) Lancaster; husband, Clyde Letbetter; son, Chuck Letbetter; grandson, Matthew Burks; and husband, Charles Porter.
She is survived by her loving family: Daughter, Lisa Burks; brother, Edward Lancaster and wife, Sue; grandchildren, Michael Burks and wife, Hannah, Joseph Burks and fianc?, Megan Henry and Laura Burks; great grandchild, Kennedy Burks and one on the way; and Charles's daughter, Charlyn Williams and husband, Butch.
Our beautiful soul, Laura Beth was the Best mother, a doting grandmother and great grandmother, loving sister, and faithful friend to many will be sorely missed. Her sweet smile, kind disposition, elegant handwriting, and her knack for thoughtful handmade gifting will live forever in our hearts. Friends and relatives always looked forward to receiving her Christmas cards, get well cards, birthday cards and her "just because" cards, if for no other reason than just to admire and enjoy her beautiful penmanship!
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to her caring friends and devoted church family for their loving care and visits.

A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in The Chapel at Conroe Funeral Directors with Pastor John Davidhizar officiating.
