Funeral services for Laura Jean Day Mason Burnett "Stormy" will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 12:30 P.M. in the Christian Fellowship Church, 3950 Pointe Pkwy. Beaumont TX.
Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021, from 9:00 A.M until time of service in the church.
Stormy was born on August 21, 1950 in Beaumont to her parents, Robert and Ellen Terry Evans Day. She passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021 after a long and courageous fight against cancer.
At age 12 Stormy began working two jobs at local stores in Beaumont. In 1968 she married Richard Mason and they had 3 beautiful daughters. She began working 3 jobs to support her girls and to put herself through nursing school. In 1992 she was awarded nursing student of the year at Lamar University and in 1995 she graduated with her BSN degree. She began a career of nursing and for the next 27 years she worked and traveled as a nurse. She always said that nursing wasn't a career or a paycheck it was a calling.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two Husbands: Richard Mason and Keith Burnett; one brother: Vincent Robert Day; and one grandson: Tommy Loiodice.
Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters: Tamara Hackemack (Darryl) of Hillister, TX., Brandy Loiodice (Tom) of Stewart, FL., Tara-Lyn Yates (Kevin) of Leesville, LA; six grandchildren: Candace Hackemack, Brandon Jackson, Triston Yates, Breanna Loiodice, Kyler Hackemack, and Keyera Hackemack; Two Great Grandchildren: Faith Miller, and Jaxon Miller.
