Laura E. (Fineberg) Bohn, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on April 12, 2022, just two months short of her 90th birthday.
She was born in Worcester on June 20, 1932 to parents Bessie and Barney Fineberg. The youngest of six siblings, Laura lived most of her life in Springfield's East Forest Park neighborhood except when she accompanied her husband, Robert Bohn while he served in the US Air Force. The two were married in Springfield on Nov 12, 1952.
In 1950, Laura graduated from Classical High School prior to attending post-graduate school studying medical assistance. Laura then began a long career as a Medical Transcriptionist in Mercy Hospital's Record Room. She thrived in her career supporting the hospital's medical staff and while at Mercy she made many lifelong friends.
Laura's summers were filled with endless beach outings that she enjoyed in the company of her sister, Sylvia who lived in Gloucester, then Rockport. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Laura was a longtime volunteer at the Jewish Home where she also helped care for both her mother, Bessie and later her sister Louise ? a long time resident there.
Laura is survived by Robert E. Bohn, her husband, her children (and spouses) Wendy Lucas (Michael Lucas), Stephen Bohn (Gail Skvirsky-Bohn) and David (Marlene Bohn), four grandchildren (Laurie Bohn (Matthew Curley), Jeffrey Bohn, Emily Lucas, Austin Lucas and two great grandchildren (Sarah and Benjamin Curley)
Funeral services will be Friday at 11:30 AM at the Ascher-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 44 Sumner Avenue, Springfield
