Launia "Lou" Brown, 85, of Meyersdale, died April 29, 2021 at Goodwill Retirement Community, Grantsville, Maryland. Born September 26, 1935, Leatherwood, Kentucky the daughter of Logan and Katie (Combs) Francis. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert E. Brown; siblings: Erna Mae Noble, Emily Gwinn, Pearl Asbell, Martha Whitaker, Beulah Brown, Edna Noble, Hazel Neace, Vinson Francis, Omar Francis, Kerney Francis, ErslaLea Rapelye, and Opal Brush. Survived by son: James Brown and wife Jennifer, Meyersdale; stepsons: Thomas Brown and wife Denise; Ralph Brown and wife Carol, all of Ohio; grandchildren: Alexis, Lucas, Zayne, Jessica, and Ali. Also survived by sister: Geneva Edwards; brother: Logan Francis Jr; special nieces: Debby Yutzey, Linda McKenzie, and Cathy Robertson, all of Meyersdale; and numerous cherished nieces and nephews. Lou was a devoted Christian and member of Summit Mills Grace Brethren Church. Her Bible was her most cherished possession. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Sunday dinner after church at Traditions Restaurant with her husband and friends was a weekly ritual for many years. She always greeted others with a warm smile and kind word. Lou's laugh and loving personality will be missed by many. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale. Viewing also from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Summit Mills Grace Brethren Church, with Pastor Tim Yoder and Pastor Gabe Yoder officiating.
