Larry Joseph Vega
VICTORIA - Larry Joseph Vega, 53, passed away at home with his family by his side on June 24, 2021. He
was born in Victoria, Texas on March 25, 1968, to Laureano and Genevieve Vega. He attended Victoria
High School, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Gulfport, Mississippi and the Capitol City Trade
and Technical School in Austin, Texas. He loved attending rock concerts and hanging out with all his
childhood friends to which he was always there for. He treasured his family and thought greatly of his
nieces and nephews. He cherished and valued the times spent with everyone especially his great nieces
and nephews. He is a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and a devout believer of praying
the rosary. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Rosary prayer group and encouraged and inspired
family members and friends to value the importance of praying the rosary. He is preceded in death by
his mother Genevieve Vega. He is survived by his father, Laureano Vega, sisters, Jacqueline Perez (JR),
Loretta Ybarbo, Yvonne Gonzales (Alex), nephews, Donavan Perez (Constance), Landon Perez, nieces
Brandi Franco (John), Jaycelin Ybarbo, and Jasmine Ybarbo, great nieces Maisie Genevieve James, Ella
Leilani Franco, Jasmine Rose DeLeon, Athena Jade Perez and great nephews Christian Franco, Cason
Franco, Gabriel Perez and many loving family members, friends, and his much-loved Cocker Spaniel,
Tony. Family and friends will gather for visitation at Heaven's Gate Funeral Home, 412 Main St. in
Victoria on Tuesday June 29, 2021, from 4PM to 7PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 7PM. A mass will be
held at 9AM Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Burial will follow at
Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Honoring Larry's life pallbearers will be Ralph Lopez, JR Perez, Donavan
Perez, Landon Perez, Larry Fonseca, and John Franco. Honorary pallbearers are dearest friends' family
and co-workers. Under the Direction of Heaven's Gate Funeral Home.
