With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Larry Troutner on February 8, 2025. Larry was a beloved member of our community, known for his kindness, generosity, and dedication. He was born on January 2nd, 1941, and throughout his life, he touched many hearts with his empathy and compassion. After 59 years in Ohio and 37 years of service to public education, Larry retired to Lady Lake, FL in The Villages. Larry excelled academically and professionally, earning respect and admiration in his career. Larry earned his bachelor's degree in education from North Central College, a Master's degree in psychology from Defiance College and a EdS degree from Kent State. He was passionate about his hobbies including fixing anything, working on computers and travel, along with sharing his adventures with friends and family. Through the years, Larry was also deeply involved in Hope Lutheran Church and with his family, leaving a legacy of friendship and giving. He is survived by his spouse of almost 55 years, Anita (Berger), his children, Mike (Ann) Troutner, Amy (Kevin) Baker, Paula (Marcus) Shuter and Eric (Stephanie) Troutner, and his grandchildren, Tara and Ryan Baker, Ross Troutner, Jordan Shuter, and Caroline Troutner. He was preceded in death by his parents Ruby and Harry Troutner, sister Sharon Edwards and granddaughter Shelby(Troutner) Blue. Thank you to all the caregiver's that assisted Larry during the last few months of his life, he truly enjoyed the time spent with each of you. A celebration of Larry's life will be held on Saturday, March 8th, 10:30am at Hope Lutheran Church, in The Villages. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the "Hope Lutheran Church Building Fund" in his name. Rest in peace, Larry. You will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
