Larry Ellis Troutman

Larry Ellis Troutman, 82, of Fort Ashby, WV, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the West Virginia Veterans' Nursing Facility. He was born on March 10, 1941, in Cumberland, MD, a son of the late Stanley and Hazel Alkire Troutman. Larry served his country in the United States Army. He attended Frostburg State (College) University where he received his bachelor's degree in education. He retired from Frankfort High School where he taught socials studies. Larry was an avid hunter. He loved to travel and had been to all 50 states, 19 countries and several islands. Larry was also a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Larry is survived by his wife of 27 years, Rita Nelson; three sisters-in-laws: Beverly Delaney, Shelia Kesner and husband Tim, and Carolyn Troutman Kriglein; one nephew: Nelson Kesner; two nieces: Amanda Delaney Grose and Sharyn Sibley; two great nieces and four great nephews. In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by one brother, James Troutman; one brother-in-law, Earlie Delaney; father and mother-in-law, John and Irene Nelson.
