Larry Quinton Thompson

THOMPSON - Quinton Thompson 87, of Lawrenceville passed away December 21, 2025. He lived his entire life in

Oakland Community of Gwinnett County witnessing the transformation from pastureland to today's suburbia. He

was a member of New Hope Christian Church. While often a man of few words, with his pocketful of candy or a

$1 bill he showed his love daily in small ways which will never be forgotten. Quinton is survived by his loving wife of

66 years, Shirley, his children, Larry Thompson Jr (May). Rita Thompson (Chris) and Greg Thompson (Missy).

His grandchildren, Laura (AJ) Thompson, Julian (Katie) Thompson, Levi Thompson (Josh), Nancy Thompson and sister Patsy Turner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy & Ruth Thompson, seven siblings, and his granddaughter, Elizabeth. With quiet dignity, Quinton accepted his cancer diagnosis, lived each day with the AJC & Wheel of Fortune and passed away at home in the care of family.
